'Surviving and Thriving in 2012'
Six week programme of info and activities: themes of Finance, Food, Fuel, Friends and Fun, and Fairness. Underpinning values - all inclusive, accessible, sharing, local and global.
The following notes are an amalgam of 2 meetings - Community Alive Falmouth on Wednesday and Poverty Forum on Thursday.
Community Alive Falmouth Mtg 11th Jan 2012 10:00am at Falmouth Council Chambers

- Poverty and Homeless Action Week: 28th Jan to 5th Feb
- Fairtrade Fortnight: Feb 27th to March 11th
- Food and Drink Festival: Feb 4th to 11th
- St Pirans Day Parade: March 5th The Moor.
- Spring Festival: March 17th to 25th.

Making it Happen' Inspiration into Action 2012 Local Energy Ownership.
The second in our programme of events for developing Fal Energy Partnership. Paul Martin of KABIN will be explaining the business mechanisms for setting up local energy production and the models used by Wadebridge and Ladock & Grampound. - Feb 3rd: Meeting with Cornwall Councillors and MP, Falmouth Council Chambers.
Exhibition Display Space in Library Foyer with drop in sessions.

- The dropins will try to be same time each week with invited 'specialists' as well as a CAF (Community Alive Falmouth) team member.
- Seed swap, debt advice, energy advice booklet, energy use questionnaire (Amy, Community Energy Plus), www.falmouthalive.org.uk access, video projection of youtubes used for previous Poverty event, save energy cooking booklet (Sanjay),
Fairtrade Fortnight Activities : Feb 27th to March 11th
- Falmouth Methodist Church Taster session. date tbc

- St Marys School coffee morning etc. date tbc
- Farmers Market Taster …. Tuesday 6th March?

- Penryn Council coffee morning. date tbc

- Fairtrade Tea Dance: date tbc

- A new Fairtrade purchase outlet is being organised in Truro - Sanjay attending the meeting
- MaryB writing to local stores for donations to Fairtrade, also checking if CT red marquee available.
- Sashes to be made.
New Event being arranged 5th March St Piran Day - Free Food Sharing Celebration. Hopefully at Falmouth Methodist after the Piran Dance on The Moor. CAF to provide basic food - eg chowder, pasty, saffon, hevva cake etc. Other food contributions to share invited especially cultural foods. Clothing suggested: black and white and gold. Recipes from the event to be collated, a blog developed and in time a book produced.
Misc:
- Sanjay Recipe Book for Foodbank. Sanjay working on an explanatory booklet to assist in using the ingredients.
- Arts for Health. Display material on happiness.
- Falmouth Methodist Church: organising monthly free Meal.
- UNITY Drop In at WI: Mon, Tues and Friday in WI from week of 23rd Jan for 3 months.
- Community Café @ Draceana every Wed. (possibly Friday also in future).
Funding:
- Co-op members fund -how much what for?
- F&P Poverty Forum £200. - check that they are happy for us to use it for next events.
- £200 from Falmouth Town Council to develop Fal Energy Partnership Energy Info Pack.
- Communities Living Sustainability fund.

- Cornwall Council Core Strategy Consultation: 12 -7:00 Thursday and Penryn next week.
- 'Big Debate' May Community Alive: Info and Resources Share.
- Sanjay organising a food event in Truro in summer. Cultural Olympiad. CAF to consider a similar one locally.
- The Devon & Cornwall Food Association presents: The Pasta Pesto Pledge!
