This event was originally planned by Falmouth Poverty Forum as a response to Homeless Action Week (Feb 2010) but the opportunity to create something that would include all sectors of the community across Falmouth - organisations, residents and homeless, offering free food, information and entertainment for all - was grasped by a small team of individuals some months ago.

Partners:
The original partners were joined by many others including: Falmouth and Penryn Youth Forum, Town Manager, Falmouth and Penryn Churches Together, Community Network Manager, Falmouth Town Council, Draceana Centre, Probation Service, Transition Falmouth etc.

The date was eventually set for May to enable the increasing numbers of partners to take part.

The Methodist Church kindly offered to host the organisations, plus a café for free refreshments and the networking lunch.

The Moor Market management integrated The Youth Café, The 4th Plinth, The Garden on The Moor and The Moor Stage with the Saturday Market.

The Library and Art Gallery joined in by holding Storytelling and workshops, and the Library provided computers to view the new website, with the foyer providing space for displaying comments from the public.

The Team:
Regular meetings by the Team held at The Dracaena Centre meant individuals could allow themselves free rein in designing a dynamic, practical and entertaining showing of Falmouth Community in action.

The new collaborative website www.falmouthalive.org.uk will ensure that organisations can continue to network and share ideas and information.

Looking forward to further participation over the next year, building towards Community Alive Falmouth 2011.
