The Friends of Penmere Station are very pleased and excited to have been shortlisted in the 'Small Projects Award' category of this years Association of Community Railway Partnership (ACoRP) Awards competition for 2012.

The Gala Dinner and Awards presentation evening is taking place at STEAM Railway Museum, Swindon on Friday 28th September.

The station adoption group entry, titled 'Project Pendennis', is the garden engine designed, built and painted by a group of Pendennis Shipyard apprentices in Falmouth, as a working project.  The engine consequently named 'Pendennis', is now the centrepiece of the station gardens that have been created, improved and maintained by the small group of volunteers for 19 years.

Photographs of the station and engine can be found on the Friends website on  falmouthalive.org.uk.

Two members of the group will be travelling to Swindon to attend the awards evening.
